In this project, I focus on Alessandro de’ Medici, a duke of the Italian Renaissance with North African heritage who, despite his high status, faced discrimination. His story reveals how racism persists regardless of status or achievement. To amplify this message, I designed a coat from upcycled Kings of Indigo jeans that were no longer sold. By merging fashion with historical themes, I pay tribute to Alessandro’s resilience and highlight the ongoing fight against discrimination today.
